If
you have problems of issues with either program, post in the
forums or send me an e-mail at chris@exxcalibur.com.
By
far the most common issue with ID Commander is the unknown
caller message. ID Commander uses the Microsoft Telephony
API (TAPI). This library makes use of the modem driver provided
by the manufacturer. Consequently, to get Caller ID you must
have a modem AND driver that supports it. In addition, of
course, you must also have the service purchased from your
phone company.
ID
Commander detects the rings in addition to the Caller ID message
from Windows. The Caller ID message comes between the 1st
and 2nd ring. If ID Commander receives the 2nd ring without
receiving the Caller ID, it logs unknown
caller.
If
you have this issue and you have the Caller ID service and
your modem supports it, be absolutely sure that the driver
does also. I had a terrible time finding a modem with a driver
for XP that supported Caller ID.
With
regard to Cam Commander, I'm considering adding a page with
links to webcams using my software. Send me a link and I'll
post it.
