NEW
for V1.23
- Improved installer with support for multiple users in XP.
Unfortunately, this creates a much larger installation file.
Added a right-click menu when minimized in the taskbar that
allows the user to easily disable the call popup dialog box.
Also, a single-click to the taskbar icon will restore ID Commander
(previously a double-click was needed). The options
and behavior of ID Commander have also been simplified.

NEW
for V1.22
- Support for Windows 2000 / XP and Microsoft's Speech SDK
5.1. ID Commander will use the text-to-speech engine
installed with Windows XP.
NEW
for V1.20
- ID Commander is freeware. Try it out! Send me an e-mail
and let me know what you think.
NEW
for V1.10
- Now ID Commander will announce incoming calls using any
SAPI complaint text-to-speech engine.
ID
Commander performs the same function as a standard caller
ID module, but with more capabilities. For ID Commander to
work, you need a modem that supports caller ID and a subscription
to the caller ID service from your phone company.
ID Commander will log calls including date, time, number and
name, if available. The name sent by the phone company is
only 15 characters long. To make the log more readable, you
can add a number to the caller database and specify a more
appropriate description for the caller such as a nickname,
etc. Also, you may specify a WAV file to be played when a
call is received from a specific number, thus revealing the
identity of a caller without the need to look at the computer
monitor.
Features:
|
TAPI complaint modem handling allows ID Commander to monitor
the ID of incoming calls without interfering with other
applications such as an internet dial-up account. |
| Annunciation
of incoming calls using any SAPI compliant text-to-speech
engine. |
| Continuous
call log database. |
| Caller
database. |
| Play
custom WAV files for each caller. |
| Popup
window displays name and number of incoming calls. |
| Hides
in the system tray when minimized. |
| Load
on startup. |
Note
for Windows 95 Users
- To use ID Commander you may need the UniModem V driver from
Microsoft. Download.
